After several problems with .net 4 I deleted the version and updates from Programs and Features and downloaded 4.5 instead. Installed OK and the updates all worked. Apr 02, 2013 · Proceeded to try installing Windows Installer 4.5 for XP, succeeded with the installation, re-tried .NET Framework 4 and Visual C++ 2010 , both still encounter same problem.
